Inspection and refurbishment before shipment

Every HOHAN 8x4 tipper that leaves our yard goes through a structured inspection: chassis rails and cross-members checked for cracks, engine compression and oil pressure tested, gearbox shifted through all ten speeds under load, hydraulic ram and tipping cylinder inspected for leaks, all lights and electrics tested, tyres measured for remaining tread. We document everything.

Refurbishment scope depends on the unit's condition — it can range from fluid changes and brake reline to full cab repaint and new hydraulic hose sets. You receive photos and a written report. You decide whether the scope matches your budget and your intended application before you transfer any funds.

LHD and RHD — in-house conversion

China produces these trucks as left-hand drive (LHD). If your country drives on the left — South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe — you need right-hand drive (RHD). Sigma Truck handles the conversion in-house: steering column, master cylinder, pedal box, dashboard, mirrors. The work is done before loading, and the converted unit is tested on-site.

If you are buying for Iraq, UAE, Nigeria, or Ghana (all LHD markets), the truck ships as-is. We confirm the drive-side requirement during order and document it on the shipping paperwork.

Shipping and import — CIF to your port

We quote CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) to your nearest discharge port: Durban, Mombasa, Lagos, Tema, Dar es Salaam, Port Sudan, Jebel Ali, Umm Qasr. That means the truck, ocean freight, and marine insurance are covered in one number. Your import agent handles customs clearance from port onwards.

We handle: export customs in China, RORO or container booking, Bill of Lading, commercial invoice and packing list, and certificate of origin. For countries requiring pre-shipment inspection (PSI) certification, we coordinate with approved inspection agencies. Typical transit times run 18–28 days to East Africa, 28–35 days to West Africa, and 20–28 days to the Gulf.
