Shipping & Delivery

Sigma Truck ships trucks for export on CIF terms, which means the price we quote already covers freight and marine insurance all the way to your destination port. You tell us your country, and as a China used truck supplier we route the unit through the main port that serves your market and handle the booking and the paperwork on our side.

Before any truck leaves, we send you photos and a short video of the actual unit and the loading — the way a used truck exporter in China should work when you are buying from the other side of the world. Quality is Power, and you should see what you are paying for before it sails.

How CIF Shipping Works

CIF stands for cost, insurance, and freight. Under CIF terms the seller pays to move the goods to the named destination port and covers marine insurance for that ocean leg. So when we quote you a CIF price, the ocean freight from China to your main port and the marine cargo insurance are already included in that single number.

What sits on your side starts once the truck reaches the port. Customs clearance, import duty and local taxes, port handling fees at destination, and any inland transport beyond the port are the buyer's responsibility. We make that split clear up front so there are no surprises when your unit lands. We also prepare the full set of documents your clearing agent needs, which keeps the process at the port moving instead of stalling on missing paperwork. If you want the detailed split of who pays what and when, see our payment terms.

Ports & Transit Times by Market

Transit times below are typical ranges from China to each main port. Actual sailing times shift with the schedule, the carrier, and transshipment, so treat these as planning figures rather than fixed dates. Drive side tells you whether that market runs right-hand drive (RHD) or left-hand drive (LHD), which we set before the truck ships.

Landlocked Markets: Uganda & Zambia

Landlocked buyers still get a clean CIF route; the cargo simply finishes by road after the sea leg. For Uganda, the truck arrives at Mombasa in Kenya and then moves overland into the country along the Northern Corridor. For Zambia, the unit comes in through Dar es Salaam in Tanzania or through Durban in South Africa, and then travels inland by road from there.

We help arrange the post-port inland segment so you are not left coordinating a separate carrier on your own. You tell us the final inland destination, and we factor the routing into the plan. Duty and clearance at your border remain the buyer's responsibility, the same as any other market.

Shipping Method: RoRo vs Container

A complete truck can travel two ways. RoRo, short for roll-on roll-off, means the unit is driven aboard a dedicated vessel and secured on deck, which suits drivable single units. Container shipping means the truck is loaded into a container, which adds protection from weather and handling and works well when you want a sealed, trackable unit or are combining the truck with parts.

We will recommend the method that fits your unit and your port, and we are open about the tradeoffs. When we ship by container, we photograph and film the truck during loading and send that to you before the container is sealed, so you confirm the exact unit and its condition before it leaves China.

Documents for Customs Clearance

Clearance at your port runs on the document set, so we prepare a complete package for every shipment. The standard four are the commercial invoice, the packing list, the bill of lading, and the inspection certificate. Together these let your clearing agent declare the unit, prove its value and contents, take title at the port, and satisfy any pre-shipment inspection your country requires.

Complete, consistent paperwork is the single biggest factor in how fast a unit clears, which is why we get it right before the truck sails rather than scrambling after it lands. If your market needs an extra certificate or a specific declaration, tell us early and we will include it. The commercial terms behind these documents are spelled out in our payment terms.

Before the Truck Ships

Nothing leaves our yard untested. Before a unit is booked, we run a loaded road test so the truck is checked under real weight, not idling in a yard, and we send you photos and video of that unit so you confirm condition before payment of the balance. Any RHD or LHD conversion your market needs is completed and verified beforehand, so the truck arrives ready for your roads.

This final check is the last gate in a process we document end to end, the kind of accountability you should expect from any truck supplier shipping across an ocean. You can see how we inspect and test units on our quality control page, and the full path from sourcing to export on how we refurbish and export.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does shipping take to Mombasa, Durban, or Lagos?

Typical ocean transit runs about 20–35 days to Mombasa, 20–30 days to Durban, and 25–40 days to Lagos (Apapa). These are planning ranges; the exact sailing time depends on the carrier, the schedule, and any transshipment.

What does CIF include?

CIF covers the cost of the truck, the ocean freight to your destination port, and marine insurance for the sea leg. Customs clearance, import duty, local taxes, port handling at destination, and inland transport beyond the port are the buyer's responsibility.

Do you ship to landlocked countries like Uganda and Zambia?

Yes. Uganda is served through Mombasa with an inland road leg, and Zambia through Dar es Salaam or Durban with an inland leg. We help arrange the post-port inland segment; border clearance and duty stay with the buyer.

Do I get photos before the truck ships?

Yes. We send photos and a short video of the actual unit and the loading before it sails, including during container loading before the container is sealed, so you confirm the exact truck and its condition first.
